About this wine
You’ll notice that this Confidential 2017 Margaret River Shiraz is a little different. No, we’re not talking about the impressive 95-point score from legendary David Bicknell, or the serious savings off the recommended retail price (although those are pretty interesting, too).
This red, from a Jimmy Watson-winning winery, was tipped as an export and labelled as such before the order was cancelled at the last minute. That’s why we can double down on value, offering it at 41% off RRP if you buy in dozens. Their loss, your gain.
The origin story of this Confidential is intriguing, and the wine inside even moreso. David Bicknell calls it ‘thoughtfully made’ (he’d know). There’s some whole bunch in there, and some sun-dried stems, all wild fermented. It’s elegant, it’s got structure, and it’s all spice, red fruit, and a lick of aniseed. It’s got a gorgeous medium body (perfect for your autumn table), and will evolve nicely with some ageing.
